My lifelong passion for photography began as a result of a major house fire that took my family's home and all our belongings in 1984. This life changing event took place in my hometown of Lovelady, Tx when I was only 5 years old. The loss shaped the way I see my subjects and all the things that we surround ourselves with. I believe that great sentimental meaning and value is always found is the details and that is where I focus my attention. I moved to Houston in 1999 and enrolled at UH for a brief moment before leaving school to work full time in a local photo lab. I met the love of my life (Patrick Medrano) in 2002 and we immediately embarked on a collaborative and creative journey together that has over the past two decades, produced hundreds of works of art ranging from huge framed portraits stitched to canvas to stop-motion animation films to three dimensional interactive works. Many of the pieces now live in some of the most impressive art collections in the US. In 2012, we welcomed our most precious creation of all, a daughter named Tomorrow, who is now 11 and turning out to be a fantastic young artist herself.
